Welcome to my virtual home! 🙂
This site dedicated to my fellow Millennial–and the coming Gen Z– Housewives who are practicing traditional homemaking.
When I became a housewife almost ten years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. Learning how to cook healthy meals, keeping myself on a schedule, cleaning routines, gardening, frugal living and managing our finances—it was all new.
For hundreds of years, homemaking skills were passed down from mother to daughter, and from older women to younger women in a community. But, not anymore. Millennials are the third generation to grow up without these skills being prioritized and passed on either in school or at home, and the effects have been devastating.
Many of us were raised on convenience meals and fast food, and never learned good nutrition or cooking skills. Our parents encouraged us to focus on our passions and future careers rather than insisting that we learn basic homemaking skills like learning how to do laundry and clean our homes.
We never learned how to make a budget, grow a garden, or feed our families without using a box. Were weren’t surrounded by extended family raising younger children who we could look to learn how to parent.
That’s why I created this site. It’s a place where I can share my homemaking journey and pass on the knowledge that I’ve gained and am continuing to gain over the years.
I can help you create efficient cleaning routines, and use schedules to free up time, teach you how to meal plan, and live on budget and within your means. I can help you become better organized, and live more self-sufficient, natural lifestyle.
These skills are traditional, but this isn’t your grandmother’s homemaking. This is Modern Housewife.

I designed Modern Housewife to be an online learning center for all things homemaking. You can choose a topic to learn more about in the menu or visit the archives page for a list of all of my articles by date posted.
I have FREE Homemaking printables under the resources page and am always working on adding new articles and materials.
