After 4 babies, you can bet that I have tried a lot of different baby products that I thought I just had to have. Some of them lived up to my expectations and were super helpful, but a lot of them just weren’t as useful or as needed as I’d hoped.
Here are 5 inexpensive products that I have actually found to be really helpful over the years. These are great (and affordable!) baby gift ideas as well, if your looking for a friend. 🙂

#1: The Boppy
This little donut shaped pillow is a lifesaver, let me tell you! It’s great for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding and was really was helpful when my babies were newborns. It makes breastfeeding super comfy. I still use it now, 6 months later, when I need a couple free hands, like working on this blog, making my weekly meal plan or reading to my toddler while I’m feeding the baby.
It’s also a great support pillow to help your other kiddos safely hold the new baby, and they will want to hold the baby.
All. the. time.
#2: Ring Sling
There are a lot of baby wearing devices out there and over the course of 4 babies, I have tried a lot of them, but time and time again, I have come back to the very first sling I ever used: the Ring Sling
As a busy mom, I love, love, LOVE my ring sling more than every other type of sling I’ve tried, and here’s why. It’s very compact, so it fits well in my diaper bag, and I can take it on and off fairly quickly. I also love that I can use it with my babies in the newborn all the way to toddlerhood.
It’s fantastic for carrying the baby while I’m out shopping or volunteering at school, or even going for a walk. I love that I can put the toddler in the stroller, the baby in the sling and take off .
#3 Nursing Cover
There are a lot of nursing covers out there. My personal favorite has been this one by Cheeky Cherubs. It’s made from super soft organic cotton and is actually a 4-in-1 nursing cover, car seat cover, high chair cover and scarf. It’s fantastic! It comes in it’s own bag and fits great in my diaper bag. I’ve definitely had to use it as a scarf to hide embarrassing let downs–thank goodness I had it!
It is surprisingly easy to breastfeed in and I love that it gives me a lot of coverage so I don’t have to worry about anyone seeing something I would rather them not, if you know what I mean.

#4: Portable Changing Pad
My diaper bag came with a changing pad but it was really small and when you have a baby and a toddler, your diaper bag stays pretty full even on an easy day. That’s why I love this portable changing pad from Obecome that I got off Amazon.
It has had pockets to hold a few diapers and wipes and unfolds into a nice size pad. I love that I keep this in my car so I always have diapers and wipes even if I don’t have my diaper bag. When I need to change the baby, its super easy to just pull out my little diaper changing bundle and head to the bathroom.
#5: White Noise Machine
If you have other kids at home, a white noise machine is a MUST. I don’t understand why my baby can sleep through a basketball game, but wakes up every time my other kids start talking in front of her room, but it’s true. Thankfully, I learned pretty quickly that using a white noise machine helps to muffle the extra noise so she can go to sleep faster and stay asleep longer. I love this one from SOAIY. It has several different sound options so I can pick the best one for my baby. It’s portable and my favorite, will turn off after 60 minutes, instead of just 30. Seriously, who decided 30 minutes was enough??
These are 5 of my favorite must-have baby items that I can honestly say after 4 babies are really worth the money. What’s on your baby must-have list? What was your favorite baby gift you received? Let me know in the comments!
