Hi! I’m Sarah from 1modernhousewife.com.
I am a stay-at-home mom to four little ladies and wife to this lucky guy right here.
I’ve been a housewife about as long as I’ve been married, and I am so blessed to have been able focus over the last ten years on cultivating my marriage, managing our home and raising our children.
I love to DIY, garden, and crochet, and I am obsessed with organization.
We live in small, 1960’s ranch house in the suburbs, that we have been slowly remodeling over the last 10 years, and we’ve turned our little half-acre yard into a suburban homestead: raising chickens, growing fruit trees and tending a garden. We even make homemade maple syrup from trees that were probably planted before we were even born. So fun!
Why Did I Create This Site?
Over the years, I have learned to manage our family’s single income like a BOSS, and create working routines and schedules that help us thrive during even the busiest seasons of life.
The organizational skills I have honed have helped us live comfortably as a family of 6 in a 1400 square foot house, and developed organizational and time management skills so that I can do all of things I’m called to do as a mom, wife, homemaker and member of my community.
I started this website because I want to help you do the same.
I can’t tell you the amount of times I have heard things like, “I wish we could afford for me to stay home,” or “I don’t know what I would do all day,” or “I don’t know how you do it all.”
Well, you can; you’ll stay plenty busy, and I can show you how! If I can help you get more moments like this in your day…
then all of my effort in making this site will be so worth it!
Don’t get me wrong, none of us have really have it all together, myself included. In fact, a lot of the time I feel like I am barely keeping it all together, but I’ve come a long way from where I started, and just maybe, I have a little something to offer you here.
So Who Am I?
I am a wife and mom, and the first and constant teacher of my children; the caretaker of my family; the keeper of my home and the manager of our finances. I am a community volunteer, and the classroom parent at school.
My door is open and the coffee’s always on. My days are busy and my heart is full.
I am a Modern Housewife.
